Big Vern got a spot start for the home team yesterday and really made it his job to shat all over his OF spot. I decided to sit Werth against Volstad as he was 1-20 lifetime against him. Big Vern came in a lifetime .290-something vs righties and Helickson was on the mound for the Rays. I figure why not...boy did I get a fart on my face. I took a late lunch to watch Haren throw (have him in 2 leagues) and he was on from the start, so was Hellickson in the early innings but fizzled out in the 4th. Big Vern struck out 3 consecutive times, looking completely baffled about how to hit a baseball. Remember last year when he hit 50 HR's in the first 10 games?
